Describe the build-up

Do not invoice only “new driveway”. Name the preparation, drainage, edging, surface and waste included. This lets the customer compare the work with the quote.

Ground conditions and extras

Unexpected concrete, poor ground, services or drainage changes may require extra work. Record the condition, price and approval before adding it.

Deposits and stages

A practical sequence can be deposit, excavation and sub-base, surface laid, and completion. Show prior payments and remaining balance on each invoice.

Customer choices

Reference the agreed block, colour, pattern, resin blend or aggregate. A late product change should be recorded as a variation if it changes price or timing.

CIS and VAT

Driveway and paving work may fall within construction operations depending on the contract. For subcontract work, check CIS and split labour from qualifying materials. Check VAT and reverse-charge treatment separately.

Final check

  • Is the measured area shown?
  • Are excavation, sub-base, drainage and surface separate?
  • Is the product or finish identified?
  • Are waste and haulage included?
  • Are ground-condition variations approved?
  • Are deposits deducted?
  • Are VAT and CIS correct?
  • Is the due date printed?
